Dr. Luke J. Hunter was born in Texas and lived across the country as a military brat. His father, Lt. Col T.K. Hunter worked in Intelligence and was stationed in places like Alexandria, VA to Pearl Harbor, HI. During his father's military career, they were stationed at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City twice. And it was the second time around that Dr. Hunter realized that he knew he wanted to end up in North Louisiana whenever he finished his schooling.
Dr. Hunter almost went to LSU but following his sophomore year at Airline High School in Bossier City, his father was transferred to Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Not having a home state in the mainland, he decided to go to his family’s Alma Mater at Texas A&M (Gig ’em, Aggies!). Dr. Hunter wants everyone to know that he still supports LSU, just not when they play his Aggies.
Following college and his Podiatry school in Chicago, IL, during his residency Dr. Hunter spoke with Glenwood Regional Medical Center about the possibility of coming to West Monroe and after finding out there was a need for a 3 year surgical trained Podiatrist, he was recruited by Glenwood to move here and open his clinic.
